Elderberry Syrup / Goodbye colds!!

Elderberries have the ability to significantly improve immune function by increasing the production of cytokines in the body. In addition, they are very beneficial for bronchial and respiratory problems and can help decongest and clean the lungs.


Ingredients:


3/4 cup honey


Optional additions:

1 cinnamon stick

1 whole star anise

¼ teaspoon whole cloves



Lets's make magic!

Place the berries and water in a medium saucepan (with optional spices) over the heat.

Cook over medium-high heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until thickened and reduced by half.

Remove and cool completely.

Strain the syrup into a bowl, extract the juice from the berries with a wooden spoon, and discard the whole spices.

Beat the raw honey and pour into jars.

As a health prevention, enjoy 1 tablespoon per day.

To help recover from a cold or flu, enjoy 1 tablespoon 3 times daily.
